GWP’s TEAM CHIRK Take on the National Three Peaks Challenge

On the 13th September GWP’s TEAM CHIRK are taking on the “notorious” National Three Peaks Challenge an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.

Team CHIRK will climb each peak in turn, and be driven from the foot of one mountain to the next. The three peaks are:

Ben Nevis (1,344 m or 4,409 ft), the highest mountain in Scotland
Scafell Pike (978 m or 3,209 ft), the highest mountain in England
Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m or 3,560 ft), the highest mountain in Wales
The total distance walked is estimated at 42 kilometres (26 mi) or 44 km (27 mi), with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 m)

They have been in training since early spring and Barry the originator of the idea has lost 3st in the process!

They are hoping to raise £3,000 and have a long way to go to achieve their goal, so anything you can give will be very much appreciated.

You can give direct via Virgin Money Giving.: Just click HERE and if you are a taxpayer, please don’t forget to complete the gift aid section. You can also download a poster and sponsorship forms HERE to put up in your church, school or place of work.

THANK YOU on behalf of Foodbank and team CHIRK: Let’s show them that we admire them for their generosity of spirit, discipline and focus: “GO TEAM CHIRK”…
